Abstract

When the cylinder wears, there will be an enlargement of the volume of the cylinder, which will affect the motor power generated at each duty cycle of the engine. If the wear of each cylinder is not equal, then the added volume of each cylinder is also not the same, and of course the motor power that is generated for each cycle of each cylinder will be different; So we need to analyze the impact on the main engine itself. The method used is the characterization of field observations to obtain accurate engine data by measuring the level of wear of each cylinder, and thereafter it will be calculated using a formula-based. The result obtained is a reduction in effective power, so the cylinder is oversized to increase the effective power of the engine. The uneven wear of the cylinder will cause a decrease in effective power for the engine, Ne = 415,458 Watt (0,557 HP) or 0,68%, and after over-sizing the cylinder, there will be an increase in effective power for the engine, Ne = 747,873 Watt (1,003 HP) or 0,122%.
